Hello Authors,
It's been a while since we've opened our doors, and both June and I are genuinely excited to see what you've been working on.
Here’s the thing about romantasy: I love it, but I’m tired of courts and politics. Give us something new.
Think Joe Abercrombie, but let some hope bleed through the dark. I'm drawn to stories that go to hard places but still land an emotional payoff. I’m very drawn to psychological depth. And I want action and big stakes.
I’ll likely tend to skip the chosen one or hidden royalty trope.Give me an ordinary person that gets pulled into chaos. I’m absolutely here for Beauty and the Beast vibes.
I’m chasing is enemies-to-lovers dynamics — think Alchemized, The Knight and the Moth, or Fourth Wing energy. Forbidden love. Slow burn. That "touch her and die" intensity. Morally grey characters who feel true to life, not just edgy for edge's sake.
No damsels in distress. My protagonist doesn't need to start out strong — I love a good growth arc — but she should be driving her own story, not waiting to be rescued.
We can't wait to see what you send our way.
— Stephanie
Hello Authors,
I’m here for your unforgettable worlds, morally complex characters, and gorgeous prose.
I’m searching for the beauty found in The Isle on the Silver Sea, The Everlasting, and The Knight and the Moth.
Send me all the stories of magical books—The Starless Sea or Piranesi, but inside a library. Give me the unique world of The Library of the Unwritten.
I’m looking for the grit and irreverence in Kristoff’s Nevernight Chronicle. The magical realism of The Ten Thousand Doors of January. The perfect characters in Schwab’s Shades of Magic Trilogy.
Give me a manuscript that combines the familiar with the unfamiliar, think Will of the Many but without the school.
I need all the manuscripts that play with time, time loops, and eternity, like This Is How You Lose the Time War and Before the Coffee Gets Cold, with all the angst of The Time Traveler’s Wife.
And like Stephanie, I crave books with “touch her and die” vibes. I adore fated mates, second-chance love, and enemies-to-lovers with an edge.
I can’t wait to open my inbox every single morning and read your submissions.
